The science of beeswax
Beeswax candles release negative ions as they burn, which neutralise airborne pollutants like pollen, dust and dander — naturally cleansing the air. The light from beeswax is the closest to natural sunlight, producing a warm bright glow that reduces eye strain and enhances mood. Perfect for meditation, relaxation and creating a cosy home.
Natural scent and ambience
Beeswax emits a mild, sweet honey fragrance naturally, combined with natural essential oils, creating a calming atmosphere. A renewable, biodegradable resource — it is estimated that bees must fly 150,000 miles and produce six pounds of honey just to secrete one pound of wax.
Burning tips
Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn and keep away from draughts for an even flame. Allow the wax pool to reach the edges on the first burn to prevent tunnelling. Burn on a heat-resistant surface only. Never leave unattended or within reach of children or pets.
Candle care
- Safe placement — Place on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials, curtains, and draughts. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Ventilation — Burn in a well-ventilated room but away from open windows or fans — moving air causes uneven burning and increases soot.
- Surface protection — Use a candle holder or plate to catch any wax drips and protect your surfaces.
- Soot or ghosting? — A small amount of soot or faint ghosting on nearby walls is normal with beeswax candles and easy to wipe away with a damp cloth. Trim the wick to 5mm before every burn and keep the flame free of draughts to minimise it. If soot persists, extinguish, let cool, retrim, and relight.
