About Swabees

At Swabees, we believe the best things come straight from nature — unprocessed, unhurried, and made with care.
We're a small family-run apiary nestled in the Lincolnshire Wolds, where our bees forage freely across wildflower meadows and hedgerows. Every jar of our raw honey is harvested by hand, never heated or pasteurised, so you get all the natural goodness exactly as the bees intended. We also have apiaries in the Fens and Foothills of Lincolnshire, lovingly caring for these precious pollinators — wrapping them in sheep's wool in the winter and providing ample food when they need it to help the species grow.
But honey is just the beginning. We use pure beeswax from our own hives to handcraft a range of candles, soaps, and balms — each one made in small batches using natural, skin-kind ingredients. No SLS, no parabens, no compromise.
Our Hives, Our Responsibility
Our beeswax and raw honey come directly from our own hives, tended with care and respect for the natural rhythms of the colony. We practise ethical, low-intervention beekeeping — never taking more than the bees can spare, and always ensuring the health and wellbeing of our colonies comes first. We do not treat them with chemicals and have through dedication and hard work been able to sustain them as treatment-free colonies.
We believe that healthy bees mean a healthy planet. Bees are responsible for pollinating around one third of the food we eat, and their decline is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. By keeping our own hives and supporting local bee populations, we play a small but meaningful role in protecting these vital pollinators.
Small-Batch, Low-Waste Production
Every Swabees product is handmade in small batches using locally sourced, natural ingredients. We choose our suppliers carefully — prioritising those who share our commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and minimal environmental impact.
We care deeply about the environment. Our packaging is recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable, and we offer a jar refill and recycle scheme so nothing goes to waste. In 2023 we added solar panels and battery packs to our smallholding to generate as much of our own energy naturally — and this is just the beginning. We hope to expand our energy generation further and, no doubt, take in a few more rescue animals alongside the chickens and greyhounds.
No Nasties, Ever
We never use parabens, sulphates, or artificial preservatives in our products. What you see on the label is exactly what goes into your skin — pure, natural, and honestly made. We are also proud to be completely cruelty-free. You can read our full statement on animal testing here.
Our Commitment Going Forward
Sustainability is not a destination — it is an ongoing commitment. We are always looking for ways to reduce our impact, improve our practices, and give back to the natural world that makes everything we do possible.
When you shop with Swabees, you're supporting a small British business that puts bees, people, and the planet first.
